Moonwatt was founded in September 2024 with a clear mission: to make solar power competitive around the clock and around the world.

We are developing the next generation of highly competitive Energy Storage Systems powered by advanced sodium-ion battery technology. Our hardware and software solutions are purpose-built for co-location with solar plants, enabling them to fully replace fossil-fuel generation on global power grids.

The power sector accounts for 40 percent of global CO₂ emissions, which is humanity’s number one lever for decarbonization. As a European battery start-up, Moonwatt is driving innovation to accelerate this transition and reshape the future of sustainable energy.
