System Testing and Validation Engineer

Moonwatt is seeking a System Integration and Test Engineer to join our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) team in Europe. This role will lead our testing and functional verification efforts for our energy storage systems, including batteries and power electronics. You will work closely with design and simulation teams to understand requirements, develop procedures, set up and execute tests, and report on findings. Through testing, you will play a key role in shaping the product design.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and conduct comprehensive testing of functional, high voltage, and thermal systems across our energy storage systems. 

  • Develop test strategies, plans, and procedures for various systems, including electrical and mechanical systems. 

  • Spearhead the design and acquisition of testing infrastructure, from mechanical setups to software tools. 

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design integrity and suggest improvements. 

  • Analyze complex test data, report findings, and drive system enhancements. 

  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve intricate technical issues during testing. 

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the enhancement of team skills. 

  • Drive innovation in testing methodologies and practices. 

  • Interface closely with design, simulation, and manufacturing engineering partners to inform design decisions. 

  • Promote and participate in a culture of rapid prototyping and testing. 

  • Foster a collaborative team spirit and a proactive attitude. No task is too big or too small. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. 

  • 5-10 years of experience in testing high voltage systems, preferably in power electronics or batteries. 

  • In-depth knowledge of high voltage and thermal systems testing techniques. 

  • Experience interfacing with microcontrollers and writing scripts for functional testing. 

  • Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and leveraging technology to drive positive environmental impact. 

  • Eligibility to work in Europe. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with high voltage battery and power electronics. 

  • Experience with utility-scale energy storage systems.
